2011/08/25 - Plácido Domingo received sparkling wine in our packaging

World famous tenor Plácido Domingo received the gift as complementary for taking part at the 20th. International Musical Festival in Český Krumlov.

The festival took place between July 15 and August 20 in famous mediaval town of Český Krumlov and maestro’s concert was the final point of the entire programme. On the photo from the left: Plácido Domingo - tenor, Jaromír Boháč – festival president, Zuzana Lufinková – festival vicepresident. The pack to accommodate 7 dcl wine bottle was made on the Burgopak packaging system platform without print but with shapes diecut into e-wave corrugated board. Official supplier of this packaging and customer of Copacking Service for the festival was Auviex, a.s.

2011/09/05 - – Automatic folding/gluing on Petratto Metro

It has been already 6 months since the startup of our new folder/gluer Petratto. We are now able to produce high volume packaging i.e. pharma boxes, CD pockets, sleeves etc.

The implementation of Petratto into our production process made it possible to improve production of packaging for such customers like L.A. Fuel energy chewing gums or Nespresso. However not only high volume packaging harvested the benefits: many exclusive packaging designs that had been previously assembled manually are now pre-glued or pre-assembled on our new machine.

2011/05/09 - Copacking Service is now ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified

There is one clear message we would like to send to our customers by being ISO 9001:2008 certified: you are the most important for us!

The ISO management system at Copacking Service is build on the following pillars: - effective management - systematic approach - continuous improvement - good relationship with our suppliers - fact-based decision making - getting all employees involved in promoting company’s goals - process management - organization is in fact lead by customer By getting ISO 14001:2004 certificate we also want everybody to know that the quality of our environment really matters to us and we are comitted to never ending improvement and prevention.

2011/03/28 - Copacking Service implemented HACCP procedures

We have voluntarily implemented HACCP during certification to meet ISO 9001 and 14001 requirements.

The HACCP system was voluntarily implemented due to the fact we are storing dietary supplements for some of our customers. The core of HACCP system are the following 7 principles: 1/ Conduct a hazard analysis. 2/ Identify critical control points. 3/ Establish critical limit for each control point. 4/ Establish critical control point monitoring requirements. 5/ Establish corrective actions. 6/ Establish procedures ensuring the HACCP system is working as intended. 7/ Establish record keeping procedures. This step we have done will lead to ISO 22000 certification by the end of 2011.

2010/10/01 - Copacking celebrates 5 years

It has been 5 years in 2010 since the founders of Copacking Service Jan Vrátil and Jan Kotrč decided that they no longer want to work for big international companies or struggle to increase the value somebody else's company and founded business of their o

The anniversary day is in fact July 14/2005 when the company was accepted by the Companies Register. Few months before this date both Jans had met playing squash. Copacking Service started as agency offering contract packaging services and in September 2005 launched cooperation with Berlin based company New Media Packaging (later Burgopak Germany). From 2006 the portfolio of services was extended to packaging design and production and turnover started to grow by many per cent per year: 2005 => 2,5 mil CZK; 2006 => 11 mil CZK; 2007 => 29 mil CZK; 2008 => 39 mil CZK; 2009 => 41 mil CZK; 2010 => 45 mil CZK (estimate) Main goals for next 5 years is to maintain positive trend of growth as well as come up with more and more interesting ideas of packaging design which are not only transport vehicle for the goods but help to create the image of the product and are also interesting and functional.

2010/12/06 - House of Open Opportunities

Copacking Service sponsors social project DOM in 2010 which helps mainly young people released from social institutions.

Target group of DOM are young people who happened to lose their family life as well as social background. The reasons why it happens differ: some youngsters have never lived in families – they were brought up in institutions and after reaching the age of 18 they went to nowhere, often end up on street. Some youngsters have lived in very dysfunctional families and suffer from very low self-esteem, limited education, lack of basic social skills. All of them miss safe environment, understanding grownups around them, support and love, which their age-mates naturally have without even thinking of it. The DOM provides residential as well as outpatient services, which help these youngsters to catch up with the existing gap and integrate into society. Copacking Service donated 100.000,- CZK in 2010 to DOM.

2009/12/18 - Christmas Concert of the SNOO band

For the first time this year Copacking Service organized musical event for its customers and employees. In the hall of former Batov Hotel in Zruč nad Sázavou more then 100 people gathered together to relax by listening to sound of the SNOO band…

The SNOO BAND established itself at the end of last century at the U hrocha pub in the Old City of Prague. Both founders – without knowing it – sat back to each other and were drinking beer: Karel Babuljak (Babalet, Hypnotix, Mama Bubo, Boothill, Relaxace, Sajkedelik Šraml band) and Arnošt Hanf (100 zvířat, Matěj Čech, Šrapnel) – and they dreamed about new and famous band whose solid sound would make everybody dance while those who do not like to dance would not be bored at all… about band full of handsome guys and with its own story as well. 2009/07/31 - Copacking Service decided to shut down its subsidiary in Slovakia

Management board of Copacking Service, s.r.o. decided effective July 31/2009 to close down its Slovak subsidiary Copacking Service SK, s.r.o.

The main reason of this decision is the entry of Slovakia into Euro zone and therefore integration of all the customers under the wings of EU sales team. Copacking Service SK does not have employees anymore and fiscal year 2008 was closed with positive economical results.
